SENIOR CITIZENS

The 6^th Ward is home to the second largest community of Seniors in the City of Chicago. Many of our blocks are filled with residents that purchased their homes when they were first integrated. Others live in homes that they built more than 40 years ago. As starter homes were not the practice with our Seniors, they purchased these bungalows, raised ranches, georgians and two flats; raised their families and remained their confident that the neighborhood remained safe and attractive. 
 

Because we cherish the wisdom, counsel, dedication and presence of our seniors, the 6^th Ward Staff provides a full array of services and support to our elder residents. Here are some online resources that provide services and information for Seniors, however, the 6^th Ward Service Office will continue to work with seniors daily to address their needs.
